Do you sell personalised registrations?

Rapid Reg Plates specialises in selling replacement number plates only. When purchasing number plates from our website, you must have the permission of the person who owns the registration. To ensure compliance with DVLA regulations for registered number plate suppliers, we require proof of ownership and identification when you place your order.

How long will it take for me to receive my number plates?

Orders placed before 14:00, Monday through Friday, are dispatched on the same day. Orders placed after this time or on weekends will be processed on the next working day. We offer two postage options:

  • Royal Mail Tracked 48: Usually delivered within 2-3 working days, but it can take up to 5 working days.
  • Royal Mail Tracked 24: Typically delivered the next working day, but it can take up to 2-3 working days.

Please note that Rapid Reg Plates is not responsible for any delays caused by the courier. However, if your order is delayed, we will do our best to resolve the issue promptly.

Will my replacement number plates arrive pre-drilled?

No, replacement number plates are sent without drill holes, as the required positioning can vary by vehicle make and model. The simplest method for attaching your new plates is by using our adhesive sticky pads, eliminating the need for drilling. Alternatively, you can purchase our fixing kit, which includes all necessary screws and caps for secure attachment.

Are you registered with the DVLA to make replacement number plates?

Yes, Rapid Reg Plates, is a DVLA registered number plate supplier. We strictly adhere to DVLA rules and guidelines. You can verify our registration by visiting the DVLA supplier search page and entering our postcode, LE9 7LD.

Can I alter the spacing on my new number plates?

It is illegal to use incorrectly spaced number plates, which can result in fines of up to £1,000 and an MOT failure. As a DVLA registered supplier, Rapid Reg Plates ensures that all number plates are printed with the correct legal spacing. Our plate builder automatically corrects any incorrect spacing to comply with legal requirements.

Do you take telephone orders?

Orders can be made online or via telephone. To speak to one of our friendly team to place your order or for advice, you can call us on 0116 319 4495. Our telephone lines are open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm.

Do you discount for regular, trade, or bulk orders?

For regular or bulk purchases of replacement number plates, please contact us directly. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.

How do I cancel an order?

As number plates are printed shortly after orders are placed, it may not always be possible to cancel once production has started. If you wish to cancel, contact us immediately (preferably within the hour). If the plates have not yet been produced, we will issue a refund.

Do your number plates include your legal details? / Are your number plates road-legal?

All our number plates include the necessary legal markings. This includes “Rapid Reg Plates LE9 7LD” at the bottom center and “BSAU 145e” on the bottom right, ensuring compliance with regulations and easy identification by authorities if needed.

Do you require documentation?

As a DVLA registered supplier, we must verify both your identity and your authorization to use the registration. While this may seem inconvenient, it is essential for ensuring the plates are road legal. Beware of suppliers who do not request these documents, as their plates may not comply with legal standards.

Required documents to confirm your identity:

  • Driving licence

  • Recent utility or Council Tax bill

  • Recent bank or building society statement

  • National identity card

Required documents to confirm your registration:

  • Vehicle registration certificate (V5C or V5CNI)

  • New keeper supplement (V5C/2 or V5C/2NI)

  • Certificate of entitlement (V750 or V750NI)

  • Retention document (V778) – not applicable in Northern Ireland

  • Vehicle tax or SORN renewal reminder (V11 or V11NI)

  • Temporary registration certificate (V379 or V379NI)

  • Number plate authorization certificate (V948 or eV948)

  • Letter of authorization from a fleet operator quoting the registration certificate’s document reference number

How do I atttach my new number plates to my vehicle?

The easiest method is using adhesive sticky pads, which do not require drilling. We have a guide available on how to use these pads. For those who prefer screws for added security, you can use your old number plates as a template. Check out our video guide for both methods.
